About Nic Alegre:
Inspired by movement and progress, Nic Alegre is an American action photographer best known for capturing moments of interaction between people and their environments. As a graduate of Villanova University in 2008, Alegre credits his education in History and the impact photography played throughout those studies as the driving force behind his profession today. “I’m lucky to be a very visual person who’s able to do the sports I shoot, and as a history major and once talented writer, or so I’m told, storytelling comes naturally to me— and every photo is a story,“ Alegre exclaims. By May 2011, Blake Jorgenson, Eric Berger, and Paul Morrison — three of the most famous and respected action- sports photographers in the world—began mentoring Alegre as he shot the heavy professional ski and snowboard scene of Whistler, BC. “I’m fortunate to have three of the best mentors in the world” he admits. interest in extreme sports and exploration also plays a huge part the way he takes photographs. The result is more than a frame – it is a chronicled instance of a specific experience.
